Internationally-renowned soul and funk singer Kylie Auldist will headline the 2020 Macedon Ranges Music Festival in March.
Organisers last week announced the line-up for the family-friendly festival at Gisborne Steam Park on March 14.
Auldist is best known for her 2016 award winning hit ‘This Girl’, which had more than 1 billion streams globally.
Australian blues favourite Geoff Achison and the Souldiggers are also set to dazzle the stage along with one-man band Shaun Kirk, African funk band One Spirit Africa and singer-songwriters John Flanagan Trio and GraceJean.
Musician Shaun Kirk said he couldn’t wait to perform at the festival.
“I’ve recently moved house and am now living close by to the festival grounds, so it will be great to play my first show as a local to the Macedon area,” Mr Kirk said.
“I’ve done a stack of festivals over the years, it’s always a great time jumping on the stage as people are all there for one common reason a– to have a great time.
“I’m really glad to be part of such a wonderful line up and am really looking forward to being a part of another emerging festival.”
Mr Kirk said his show would be high energy and involve crowd participation.
Macedon Ranges musicians will be well represented in a performance by the MRMC Funkateers and guests featuring vocalists and bands from the community.
All money from ticket sales will go to the Woodend-based Cambodian Kids Foundation to support their work in community development in rural Cambodia.
The event is supported by Gisborne and District Community Bank and Macedon Ranges Shire Council.
Festival director Jimmy O’Hare said the organisers were thrilled with the diversity and talent of musicians.
“Seeing the festival grow from a jam with friends in my parents’ backyard in Gisborne to now having internationally-touring musicians putting on a show for the Macedon Ranges community is incredible,” he said.
“Having them on board to support the incredible work of the Cambodian Kids Foundation and witnessing the difference they’re making just makes it all the more special.”
