THE excitement is building ahead of the Godolphin Puckapunyal Cup with Seymour Racing Club celebrating both country racing and the region’s strong ties to the Puckapunyal Army Base this Sunday.
The Godolphin Puckapunyal Cup event continues to build into one of the marquee fixtures on the country racing calendar, attracting strong community support, and delivering a unique blend of racing and military heritage at 55 Kobyboyn Road, Seymour, on Sunday, April 26.
Seymour Racing Chief Executive Chris Martin said: “The Puckapunyal Cup has quickly established itself as a significant event on our calendar, and we’re excited to see it continue to grow. Our region has a proud military history, and this day provides a meaningful opportunity to recognise and celebrate both past and present Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel.”
ADF members and families are permitted free entry and there is a free marquee for all ADF personnel.
While the meeting will feature a strong military theme, there is something for everyone to enjoy when the gates open from noon.
People can enjoy a two-course lunch from $40 per person at the Bar Landy Restaurant with sweeping trackside views and a nod to the region’s proud Army heritage.
The first of eight races is scheduled for about 1.10pm (TBC).
Kids’ activities include face painting and pony rides. Meantime, an ANZAC Day ceremony will be held prior to the last race, the Puckapunyal Cup.
Children aged 17 and under have free entry with an accompanying adult. General admission tickets will be available at the gate from $15 each, with hospitality packages also available online: www.racing.com/form/2026-04-26/bet365-seymour
