KILMORE’S women made it two from two with a dominant performance away from home against Hurstbridge on Saturday.
It was an onslaught from the word go with the Blues piling on 15 scoring shots to zero in the first quarter, but inaccuracy meant that only three of those shots produced goals.
Kilmore held its opponents scoreless in the second quarter as well, adding another three goals and five behinds to sit comfortably ahead at the main break, 53-0.
A tighter third term saw Hurstbridge get themselves on the board, but the Kilmore women were not content with just running the game out.
A five-goal-to-one final term cemented a commanding 81-point win and second position on the ladder heading into a huge matchup with Ivanhoe this Sunday.
Shazimaria Cappello made it back-to-back best on ground performances to start the season, while Shenay Reeves, Jenaya Stewart, Rose Love, Grace Gerada and Emma Pyle were also named in the best.
Wallan bounced back from its Round 1 loss to hold Darebin scoreless in an eight-goal win at Greenhill Reserve.
The first quarter offered just two behinds to the Magpies, but they kicked the first major midway through the second off the boot of Melanie Hope.
Isabel Stevens kicked a second for Wallan to give them a lead of 16 points at half time.
Singles to Isabella Newman, Kaylah Sanders and Ava Borg pushed the lead to 35 at three-quarter-time, and a second to Borg followed by another from Gracie-Lee Plumbe-King in the fourth sealed a comprehensive performance.
Newman was best on ground, while goalkickers Hope, Borg and Plumbe-King were joined by Shayla McAuliffe and Brittney Knight to be named in the best in coach Brendan Lennox’s team.
Kilmore’s netball grading games continued with just one win from eight games, while the men’s football sides had a bye.
