THE Yarrambat Fire Brigade is inviting community members to join up on Sunday, February 22 for its 25th anniversary of its fire station.

It’s set to be a special day for the Yarrambat crew, who will be celebrating the anniversary of the modern fire station, as well as commissioning the new turnout room at 446 Ironbark Road, Yarrambat.

The new station helped continue the legacy of the Yarrambat Fire Brigade, which has been in operation since 1944.

This year, the crew has been busy responding to local incidents, while also sending crews to fight fires at 10 locations across the state.

The Brigade is also working on putting together a complete history of Yarrambat dating back to its formation.

A dot point history is currently being commissioned, along with photos of the fire station, which dates back to 1944, while former Captains will also tell their story on the community day.
