WE all know how music can bring us together, and to celebrate the 2026 Victorian Seniors Festival, the Country Concert series is bringing joy all across the state.
Free concerts are on offer locally for Mitchell and Macedon Ranges Shire residents. Bring a friend, or go solo and make some new ones, either way these outings are a great opportunity to get out and enjoy yourself.
The Mitchell Shire concert will be held at the Broadford Hall on Thursday, October 22 between 10am and 12pm, starring renowned performer Melissa Langton.
She will be joined by the talented cabaret music director and singer Mark Jones, bringing classic country favourites and crowd-pleasing tunes through their joint act What’s New Pussycat Duo.
Expect classic country favourites, crowd-pleasing tunes and a celebration of the swinging 60s.
Morning tea will be included at the event.
For Macedon Ranges residents, there will be a free bus trip on offer to the historic Castlemaine Town Hall to enjoy the incredible vocals of acclaimed Australian singer Danni’elle.
Taking place on Thursday, October 8 from 8am to 5pm, attendees can expect a mix of country favourites, timeless classics and jazz standards.
Coaches will be picking up from Gisborne, Woodend and Kyneton.

Both shires, along with the City of Whittlesea, will also have several other events that encourage healthy lifestyles through exercise and belonging programs, all part of the “Connect, Create, Celebrate” tagline for this year’s festival.
Now in its 44th year, the Victorian Seniors Festival runs throughout October and offers an ever-growing list of things to do.
There are thousands of free and low-cost events across the state to celebrate positive ageing and the invaluable contributions seniors make to our communities.
The festival is headlined by the Seniors Festival Celebration Day on Saturday, October 3 at Federation Square in Melbourne.
An eclectic mix of roving performers, exhibitions, live performances and workshops will bring the area to life.
The celebration day also takes place on the first of nine days of free public transport for Victorian Seniors Card holders across all metro and V/Line train and coach services.
Selected regional bus services will also be free of charge.
