APPLICATIONS are open to local clubs for the 2025-26 Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF).
The fund helps provide support for community cricket projects, which helps ensure clubs are supported with quality facilities which helps grow the game.
In the 2024-25 season, Victorian cricket enjoyed 57 projects, which ensured that partnered investment ballooned past $300 million since the ACIF’s inception in 2019.
There are two stages of the fund, with a minor grant available for projects up to $15,000, and a major grant available for funding between $15,001 and $40,000, which makes up a maximum grant amount of up to 50 per cent of the project cost.
Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins said the continued partnership between cricket and government was an important one.
“The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund continues to deliver real outcomes for local communities by enabling vital facility upgrades across Victoria,” he said.
“Surpassing $300 million in partnered investment is a significant milestone and demonstrates the shared commitment to providing safe, inclusive and high-quality facilities that support cricket participation at every level.”
The needs of community cricket meant that there was an opportunity for clubs to score big, according to Cricket Victorian Local Government and Infrastructure Manager, Callum Dean.
“Facilities are a cornerstone of participation, whether that’s accommodating growing junior and female player numbers, improving accessibility, or ensuring venues remain welcoming community spaces,” he said.
“The ACIF provides a valuable opportunity for clubs, councils and schools to work together to deliver infrastructure that meets the needs of their local cricket community, now and into the future.”
Applications opened at noon last Monday, and will be open until 5pm on Friday, March 27.
