YOUTH-led events across regional Victoria are on the rise thanks to Youth Fest funding from the State Government for events this September.
Mitchell Shire Council is proud to celebrate Youth Fest with the Seymour Skate Competition, and it’s part of the Eastern Regional Skate Park League series and delivered in partnership with YMCA Victoria.
Young competitors in skateboarding, scooter and BMX divisions will showcase their skills, compete for prizes and have a chance to advance to a state-level competition.
Mitchell Youth Services will provide healthy snacks, refreshments and information on local youth programs, alongside a free community lunch.
The Bridge Youth Service Wallan team is planning a special celebration through its weekly after-school program, U-Krew2.
U-Krew2 aims to support at-risk young people across the Mitchell Shire aged 12–17, and it also delivers early intervention activities focused on emotional regulation, resilience, life skills and community connection.

FUTURE RECRUITS: The Wallan CFA dropped by to share the CFA’s junior program with the U-Krew2 last week.
The upcoming Youth Fest activity will build on these strengths, offering a fun and engaging opportunity for local youth to connect, celebrate, and showcase their creativity.
Across the divide, Macedon Ranges Council will use their funding to support youth-led initiatives that deliver certified Youth Mental Health First Aid courses through the Live4Life program.
This course will equip educators, parents and community leaders with the skills to recognise signs of mental health issues in young people, provide initial support and connect them with appropriate services.
