THE Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society has awarded a $5,000 scholarship to encourage a young person within the Mitchell Shire to pursue a career that benefits rural communities.
Former Kilmore resident Lachlan Kelly is studying Agricultural Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga NSW.
The young scholar grew up on a family farm in Kilmore East and now intends to further his knowledge of sustainable land management, learn innovative practices, and also explore diverse agricultural industries.
The Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society (SAPS) was founded in 1858, and their scholarships have assisted students with their studies in agriculture, veterinary science, natural resource management, and environmental engineering for over 20 years.

The Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society are very happy to award Mr Kelly the 2024 SAPS Scholarship, and welcome also welcome monetary contributions towards their trust fund to ensure the continuation of the scholarship.
To apply for a scholarship students can submit a written expression of interest to SAPS by January 15.
