IT’S been an incredible start to 2025 for Kilmore’s own D&K Walker Transport, who were the beneficiaries of the Koroit Truck Show’s Rig of the Show in late January.
The newest addition to the business, a five-year-old Kenworth T659 which was obtained at the end of 2024, was the winner.
Its victory continues a history of the Walker family working with some of the world’s best trucks, including brands such as Mack and CAT.
Company owner Brad Walker revealed on the Truckin’ with Kermie episode Secret Men’s Business 76 that it was a two-and-a-half year wait to get the order to his liking.
“We had this ordered and it’s taken two and a half years to get this like it is, done, finished, and on the road, and I’m happy with it,” he said.
“I didn’t want the same truck again, and it’s turned out pretty happy, the cloth’s done, all the stainless.”
Mr Walker revealed he had another truck coming along on the episode, a Mack ’07 Superliner.
“It’s in the paint shop now, and hopefully it’s here next year,” he said.
“By the time it’s painted, with signwriting and the stainless, it will have taken 12 months to finish that.”
