This year’s City of Whittlesea Seniors Festival is inspired by the 2024 Olympics, bringing fun, fitness, connection, and friendly competition to the senior community.
The festival kicks off on November 12 at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre with a community torch walk to go with this year’s theme, Young at Heart Games.
The Young at Heart Games is for all skill levels, featuring a wide range of sports, including tennis, walking football, 10-pin bowling, carpet bowls, golf, and pickleball, taking place at accessible venues across the City of Whittlesea.
Chief Executive Craig Lloyd said this year’s Seniors Festival was an opportunity to try something new and embrace the Olympic spirit of joy, health, and community.
“With more than 50,000 residents aged 55 and above, we are proud to be hosting the Young at Heart Games. It’s a time to celebrate our senior community, stay active, and connect with others,” he said.
“Our Positive Ageing programs support healthy ageing, and the festival is a great way to experience some of our regular activities. Whether for fun or competition, I encourage everyone to join in.”
The City of Whittlesea proudly supports this statewide event, backed by the Victorian Government.
