Further down in Melbourne’s north, Whittlesea travelled to play Northcote Park, showcasing another worthy game before the side heads into final rounds.
While the Eagles have claimed its ‘undefeatable’ title this season in the Division 2 MC Labour Seniors, with no losses to its name, Northcote opened the match with two consecutive goals and a behind.
Halfway through the first quarter, Whittlesea showed its winning charm in the season, kicking four goals which led the side to whip out a 15-point lead.
Tension was building during the second quarter, with goals and behinds traded between the two sides wanting to conclude round 18, and the regular season, in a final showdown.
Triple digits were already on the board at the end of the third quarter for Whittlesea, stretching the digits to an 85-126 win.
As expected from Whittlesea’s supporters, the Eagles will head into the qualifying final two match on August 31 at Epping Recreational Reserve.
