Late last month, rubbish from what appeared to be a house demolition was spotted on the side of the Wandong Road, between Mathiesons Road and Barwon Drive.

Locals took to social media to express their disgust at yet another dumping, with one user stating that the tire marks and compact nature of the rubbish suggested a semi tipper truck was responsible for its disposable.

The rubbish was reported to Mitchell Shire Council, who forwarded the matter onto the Department of Transport and Planning, the governing authority of the road.

A spokesperson for the Department of Transport and Planning stated that crews were sent out to inspect the site and remove the debris.

“Our crews prioritised and safely cleared construction material dumped illegally along Epping-Kilmore Road, near Wandong,” they said.

“We urge everyone to dispose of their rubbish responsibly and be mindful of the impacts that roadside dumping has on the environment.”

To report rubbish dumping, contact EPA Victoria on 1300 372 842 (1300 EPA VIC). To report any issue on the road network, contact VicRoads on 13 11 70.
