Parents who are looking for a kindergarten in Mitchell Shire found there was plenty of information available at the open day earlier this month.
All shire kindergartens were open to give parents the opportunity of meeting the teaching teams and learn about what the kindergartens can offer.
There was considerable interest in the kinder services offered throughout the shire, with many parents visiting more than one centre in order to gain an insight into the facility that would suit their child.
Throughout the day, parents and children had the opportunity to tour the facilities. They met with teachers and educators and participated in activities that showcased programs designed to nurture child development.
Mitchell Shire chief executive Brett Luxford said that the teaching teams were on hand to provide insights into the daily learning experiences and answer any questions from parents.
“The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many families expressing their appreciation for the warm welcome and informative sessions,” he said.
Families who are considering kindergarten options for 2025 can visit council’s website or contact the Children’s Services Team on 5734 6200 for more information on applications. Round one of applications for 2025 close Saturday, June 1.
