GOTAFE is welcoming students and celebrating their achievements this month with graduations and O-Weeks.
Graduations started earlier this month, beginning with Seymour Graduation on March 7 at the Seymour Community Arts Centre, with other graduations scheduled in for Wangaratta and Shepparton this month.
Seymour O-Week will take place this Wednesday, from 12pm-1.30pm at GOTAFE Wallis Street campus, followed by Shepparton O-Week the next day.
At each graduation ceremony, emceed by Paris Zachariou, will feature a Q&A style panel discussion with four student ambassadors.
Student ambassador and Euroa resident Alanna Birch completed her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care with GOTAFE in 2022 and is currently studying her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
“It is important to provide children with a safe sense of security and belonging in a warm, welcoming, encouraging and stimulating environment for the learning and development to have the best impact on the lives of our future generation,” Ms Birch said.
Some 1586 students completed their studies with GOTAFE over the past 12 months, while more than 1300 have so far commenced studying in 2024.
Acting executive director growth and engagement Laura Baker said it was an important time of the year of recognising student achievements.
“This is an important time of year, where we are celebrating our students who have completed their studies as well as welcoming new students to GOTAFE,” she said.
“We see both O-Week and Graduations as celebrations of new beginnings – the first step into a new study path and the first step into having an impact in the communities and industries across GOTAFE’s footprint.”
