A NEW hub bringing City of Whittlesea council services to the Whittlesea township and surrounds is set to open in the centre of town later this month.
From August 31, residents will be able to drop in the Whittlesea Service Hub to talk to council’s customer service staff from 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
The hub will be able to take cashless payments and help residents and businesses with a range of services, with residents also able to use the onsite engagement kiosk to provide feedback on various projects.
City of Whittlesea chair administrator Lydia Wilson said the hub was an important part of the commitment to make interacting with council easier and more convenient.
“As well as bringing many of our services online, we recognise that some people like to visit us in person and for many in the north of our municipality, driving to South Morang for customer service is a challenge,” she said.
“We are looking forward to delivering exceptional customer service right in the heart of Whittlesea township.”
People will be able to drop in to talk with specialist council staff throughout the week from 9.30am to 4pm: Monday for rates; Tuesday for business concierge; Wednesday for building services; and Thursday for planning services.
A virtual planning booth will also be onsite on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
The Whittlesea Service Hub is located at 63 Church Street, Whittlesea.
