Macedon Ranges Shire Council is inviting carers to embrace their inner Picasso at a free artistic workshop at Dromkeen Gallery in Riddells Creek on Friday.
The workshop, from 10.30am to 2.30pm, will provide a fun, creative outlet for carers while allowing them to connect with other carers over a grazing plate.
Facilitators from Pinot and Picasso will guide participants in creating an individual artwork piece.
Council’s community director Maria Weiss said the event was a great opportunity for carers to take some time out for themselves and connect with others socially.
“We know the caring role can be very difficult at times and it’s important carers are well supported and have opportunities to look after their own wellbeing,” she said.
“This workshop will provide an opportunity for them to take some time out from their caring role, have a bit of fun, and meet other carers in the community.”
The collaborative event is in partnership with the Bendigo Health carer support services team. Bookings are essential.
