Macedon Ranges outdoor pools to reopen

Macedon Ranges Shire Council will soon reopen two outdoor pools as warmer summer weather sets in from next month.

The two pools in Woodend and Lancefield will open from December 3 according to council’s temperature-based guidelines, with opening hours to be determined according to Bureau of Meteorology temperature forecasts at 4.30pm the day prior.

On school holidays and weekends in December, pools will be open from 12 to 6pm if temperatures are 26 degrees or above. Hours could extend past 6pm depending on patronage and weather conditions.

From Monday to Friday during school term one next year, pools will be open between 3.30 and 6pm in temperatures of 26 degrees or above with a possible extension to hours.

Outdoor pools and aquatic centres will be closed on Christmas Day.

Swim membership

Council is offering an early bird special on family swim season passes to outdoor pools in either Lancefield or Woodend.

People can purchase a family season pass for $108, down from the regular price of $227. The offer ends on December 17.

Outdoor pools will be open and free of charge on January 26, provided the minimum opening temperatures are forecast.
