THE Seymour RSL could receive a major upgrade, with the Liberal–Nationals Coalition pledging $500,000 for a new events space and an upgraded kitchen if elected.

State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland announced the commitment last week, highlighting the RSL’s role in supporting the community.

“The Seymour RSL is an important part of our community, bringing together veterans, serving personnel and their families,” Ms Cleeland said.

“These spaces matter. They give people the opportunity to come together, share experiences and stay connected with others who understand the unique demands of service.

“This $500,000 commitment will help deliver a new events space and an upgraded kitchen, giving the Seymour RSL more opportunities to host events and support the people who rely on it.”

The announcement follows the Seymour RSL’s Black Tie Ball on October 17, where three members were recognised for their outstanding service to the organisation.

Ms Cleeland congratulated John Phoenix OAM, John Blackwell and Bruce Tarran on receiving life membership, acknowledging their contributions to the Seymour RSL and the wider veteran community.

“Congratulations to John Phoenix OAM, John Blackwell and Bruce Tarran on being recognised as life members,” Ms Cleeland said.

“Life membership is a significant honour, reflecting years of commitment and service to the organisation and its members.

“I also congratulate the Seymour RSL on a wonderful Black Tie Ball. It was a fitting opportunity to recognise the people who have given so much to support veterans, serving personnel and their families.”

The proposed upgrades would help the Seymour RSL host more events and continue supporting the local veteran community.
