KYNETON and Hanging Rock Racing Club hosted its first meeting for the season at bet365 Park Kyneton on Tuesday.
Local trainers Charles Cassar and Mick Sell saddled up winners.
The former was successful with Here With Me, paying $7, for a narrow victory.
The five-year-old Magnus gelding took out the 1850-metre Evolve Interiors Maiden Plate defeating the $3 favourite Mvita by a half-head with the import Calvi, $3.90, a half-length away third.
He was ridden by Dean Holland.
Passed in with a $45,000 reserve at the Magic Millions Perth yearling sale, the gelding was later purchased by Cassar at the 2019 MM National yearling sale for $7500.
Here With Me is raced by the Cassars in partnership with stable clients and has had two minor placings prior to his win from 20 starts.

Later on the eight-race program, the Sell-trained Magnum Bullet, a $3.20 favourite, proved he was a track specialist with an all-the-way win in the 1100-metre Macedon Rangers Glass Colts, Geldings and Entires BM58 Handicap.
Ridden by Neil Farley, the five-year-old gelded son of Magnus and the good-producing mare Silesia defeated Gojazz, $16, by two lengths with Shalaga, $16, a further length behind third.
An emotional Mel Sell said after the race it had been a real battle with the training facilities having been out of action for over a month.
The stable has had to float the horses to Ballarat and worked others along surrounding roads.
“It’s been really tough and we still have a bit of a road ahead of us,” she said.
Magnum Bullet has now won five races – four at Kyneton with two seconds – with six minor placings from his 24 starts.
