After two years of COVID-related interruptions and moving into its new home at the Old Kilmore Post Office, Kilmore Historical Society is looking forward to hosting more events in 2022.
The historical society is open every Tuesday and Thursday, from 10am until 3pm, and Saturday mornings, 10am to 1pm, for people to visit.
Plans for the coming year include a display from its clothing collection in April, and celebrations to mark the 160th birthday of its historic bluestone building in October.
The society is hosting a pre-loved book sale on March 5 and 6, with plenty of books to purchase. The public is encouraged to attend and replenish their supply.
Its monthly meetings have also resumed, with first to be held tonight, Tuesday, at 7.30pm.
The guest speaker is society vice president Grahame Thom, who will be speaking on ‘The Real Pretty Sally’.
Many residents are familiar with the story of Pretty Sally who apparently ran a ‘sly grog shop’ on Old Sydney Road – but is it a true story?
Guests are welcome to attend and hear Grahame’s latest research.
Supper will be served afterwards.
