TWO men were arrested at a house in Kinglake early Thursday morning on a property where 167 cannabis plants were allegedly found.
Seymour Divisional Tasking Unit arrested and charged a 28-year-old and a 47-year-old at the Royal Crescent house.
Both faced the Seymour Magistrates Court the same day, and were then remanded to a filing hearing in Melbourne on September 20.
Sergeant Bob Derrett from the Seymour Divisional Tasking Unit said the rural location allowed police to conduct surveillance and establish when the offenders were likely to attend the address.
“Both males were charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis,” Sgt Derrett said.
“Police are further investigating to try and establish as to whether or not these males are linked to other cannabis crop houses that have been located in the area of late.”
The unit conducted similar drug raids twice in Wallan over the past two months.
