THE sun was shining for the official opening of Lancefield Bowling Club’s new season on Sunday afternoon.
President Jeff Smith welcomed current and new members, wishing all an enjoyable season.
He made special reference to the internal painting and improvements to the clubhouse, thanking key club members and volunteers for their time and efforts.
New club coach Garry Templar was welcomed. A Lancefield resident, he joins the Tigers after a successful stint as coach at Romsey Bowling Club for the past six seasons.
The president said the club is extremely grateful to Easytow Boat Trailers and Dave Safstrom for their generous donation of a new boat trailer to be used in conjunction with the regular wood raffle on monthly market days.
Current club champions Bev and Jeff Hlmes rolled the first jack and bowl.
Additional members, whether bowlers or someone just wanting to try the sport, will be made very welcome.
