A BIG weekend of footy saw the junior presentation night and grand finals held across the Riddell District Football Netball League.

In the under 15 C competition, Lancefield’s Jackson Hardham took home the competition best and fairest, winning from Melton’s Hunter Henderson.

Hardham also won the under 15B best interleague player, while the Tigers’ Meg Brundell won the Youth Girls best interleague player.

Zoe Huggins won the 17-and-under Division 2 netball best and fairest for Lancefield.

Khale Smith was runner-up in the under 17B football best and fairest for the Tigers, while for Romsey, Hayley Hermelin was the 17-and-under netball division 1 runner-up.

Also runner-up for Romsey was Elena Coughlan in the 17-and-under division 3 best and fairest, while Bentley Nielson was joint runner-up in the under 15B best and fairest. In the 11-and-under division 2 best and fairest, Emily Rhodes was runner-up for the Redbacks.

On Sunday, the grand finals were played.

Romsey was runner-up in the 11-and-under division 3 netball grand final, losing 14-20 to Gisborne Giants.

The Redbacks took home a premiership, however, winning the under 13B premiership with a 10.10 (70) to 3.0 (18) win over Diggers Rest, with Redback Blake Marienfeld best on ground.

Lancefield took the 15-and-under division 3 premiership, winning 20-18 over Melton South, with Maggie Keogh taking the best-on-court medallion.

Romsey was successful in the 15-and-under division 1 grand final, defeating Sunbury Lions 31-23, and Maddie Stiles was best-on-court.

Lancefield fell just short in the under 15C grand final, losing to Melton 7.4 (46) to 8.2 (50).

The Tigers also lost in the 17-and-under division 2 grand final, losing to Gisborne Rookies 22-32.

Romsey lost the 17-and-under division 1 grand final to Gisborne Giants, 36-24.
