LAST week was book week across the state which was celebrated by many schools in the area.
Broadford Primary School held a small parade and dressed the corridors with activities linked to the theme Symphony of Stories to celebrate the day.
Teachers dressed up as Toy Story characters to get involved while some kids went as Mario and Luigi and a wide range of monsters and fairies.
Not too far away at Broadford Secondary College, they had a successful week with extensive student involvment.
They started the week with a Marvel Villians themed escape room which was designed and run by their VCM and VCE students.
That was a huge success as 20 teams with 80 students in total participated, while other daily activities included a Dr Suess fishing game and ‘The Amazing Challenge’ which let kids get involved in a maze where they had to use coding to get out.
The week led up to Friday which included the dress up day, where a record amount of staff and students embraced the opportunity to dress up.
At Our Lady Of The Way Primary School, a Book Week celebration was held on Friday.
The staff, who were all dressed as Mr Men and Little Miss characters, were joined by dinosaurs, fairies, witches, ninja kids, and a wide variety of other well known book characters. The celebration was a culmination of activities throughout the week including competitions and the reading of a large number of the Book Week shortlisted books in class.
