BROADFORD continued it’s run of outs in the BFNL, losing this week by 211 points to Strathfieldsaye at home.
They went goalless for the first half, then kicked one in the third term and another two to finish the game.
Goals to Isaac Smithwick, Ben Thompson and Jayden Welch were provided, but it was a difficult day in the Kangaroos’ second last home game of the season.
Strathfieldsaye’s James Schischka had a big day out, kicking 14 goals, alongside five for Riley Wilson.
Another smacking to the Roos makes it the eighth time this year they have lost by over 200 points out of 15 rounds.
Louis Thompson, Brodie Stray, Adam Miles, Harry Behan, Jarrah Younger and Taiten Thomas were all named in the best for the Kangaroos.
The reserves took a 140-point loss, while the under-18s were reasonably competitive, falling to Strathfieldsaye by 66 points.
It was a huge day for Kangaroo Flat though, who beat Golden Square for the first time since 2001, ending a 25-year and 48-game streak.
Videos boomed across social media of the players’ reaction after the game, reminding people why footy can be so special at times, potentially a motivator for Broadford.
On the netball court, Broadford put in a reasonably competitive effort, losing 25-61 to the Storm in A-grade, while B-grade fell just short, losing 46-60. B-reserve lost 19-68, while 17-and-under lost 14-72.
