WHITTLESEA’S Country Music Festival electrified punters on Saturday, who got to see acts as hot as the muggy conditions at AF Walker Reserve.

The twilight concert brought some of the best country music performers, both nationally and locally, to the town across the weekend.

On Friday night, the festival was officially opened by Tilly Rose at the Whittlesea Bowls Club, while Alexandra’s Tayla Anne also performed to help kick off a weekend of spectacular country music.

From there, the crowd continued to build throughout the afternoon, as the Iain Archibald Band opened up with a terrific set to get the party started.

The Smith and Western Jury have been a reliable performer for the festival in recent years and again brought a great show to the festival on Saturday in the intense conditions.

From there, the music continued to intensify, with The Mason Boys bringing a loud set that could be heard throughout the township to keep everyone on their toes ahead of the main acts.

A ceremony followed, with Mayor Lawrie Cox providing words of support on behalf of the City of Whittlesea, as well as an urging to get involved with the event.

Wild Dreamers, featuring Lisa Mio, brought emotion to the stage as the sun started to set, and as the lights set in, the headline act, Scarecrow – The Mellancamp Show – brought everyone to their feet and bringing about a dancefloor.

A relaxed crowd brought about a great vibe, with the 1st Whittlesea Scout Group also playing a part by keeping the venue clean throughout the day, while there were also vendors and food trucks keeping punters interested with activations throughout the day.
