THE Victorian Racing Pigeon Union flew again from Coombah this weekend for the George Whaley Memorial.
Forty-two flyers and 598 birds flew in a stiff north-northeasterly wind. Eight members from the Wallan Kilmore Homing Club flew, with four members placing in the top 10.
Second place went to Cavanagh and Anderson, Charlie Grech finished fifth, Jerzy Gregorzek finished ninth and Les Morris 10th – a terrific result for the club. In the club race, Inglewood was the location, with 11 flyers and 290 birds. In a close race, Gregorzek won from Mark Cavanagh, the Cup Syndicate and Thomas Punzalan.
