AS far as proving premiership credentials go, they don’t come a lot bigger than beating a premiership contender away from home, as Mitchell Majors did in the A3 grade of the Melbourne Winter Baseball League on Saturday.
Travelling to Knox’s Gilbert Field, Majors shoehorned their way into the top two of the competition, setting themselves up for a blockbuster final round against Greenhills Montmorency with a strong 14-9 win.
The win moved Majors above Knox and can stay in second with a win over Greenhills this weekend.

While it was a great weekend for the A3 grade team, it was tougher in A4 grade, with Majors losing 9-2 to Knox.
The result keeps Majors in eighth position ahead of its final game of the season this weekend.
