IT’S official – Broadford’s Poppy Robinson is the fastest under-13 400-metre runner in Australian Little Athletics.

Robinson had her runs from April’s Australian Little Athletics Championships ratified last week, which saw her claim three gold medals in a standout campaign.

Robinson started off by making a statement in the under-13 girls’ 200-metre final, running 25.04, which was an Australian Little Athletics Championships record, while also running the third-fastest time ever for her age group.

She then added a second gold medal when she saluted alongside her Victorian teammates in the 4×100-metre relay, before the 400-metre event where she stole the show, running 56.55.

Impressively, this sits just under 10 seconds below the overall world record, which is currently 47.6 seconds.

Robinson then made the trek to the Australian Junior Athletics Championships, where she took silver in the under-14 100-metres and bronze in the 200-metres and 4×200-metre mixed relay, before claiming gold in the 4×100-metre relay.
