MAJOR funding boosts are heading in the direction of a new school in Wollert.

The Carlo Acutis Catholic Primary School is set to receive $6 million from the Federal Government’s Capital Grants Program.

The funding will be towards stage three of the construction works at the school to build new learning areas, a library, furniture and equipment, and new amenities for students which will help improve educational outcomes.

Federal Member for Scullin Andrew Giles said the outcome is an exciting update for the new school.

“(It will have) new learning spaces, amenities and a library. It’s a great outcome for the school community, in particular the students and teachers who’ll be benefiting from these new, modern learning spaces every day,” he said.

The project will complete the remaining student learning spaces needed to expand the school’s capacity up to 550 for foundation to year six students.

“The northern suburbs are home to a growing number of families. Our government’s investment in schools like Carlo Acutis means more local students can get the support they need to thrive,” Mr Giles said.
