CITY of Whittlesea ratepayers are being encouraged to make the switch to digital rates notices, with Council highlighting the convenience, efficiency, and accessibility the change offers.
As annual rates notices are set to be issued in the coming weeks, ratepayers can now opt to receive their notices electronically. Registration is free and gives residents the ability to view and download their notices at any time, from any device.
Alongside digital delivery, Council is also offering greater flexibility in how rates are paid. Interest-free payment plans are available, allowing residents to set up weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly direct debits to suit their budget. These flexible options are designed to assist households in managing their finances throughout the financial year.
“Ratepayers also have the option of setting up their own payment schedule, giving them more flexibility in how they pay their rates,” City of Whittlesea CEO Craig Lloyd, said.
“Receiving your notices electronically means it will be delivered directly to your inbox and you can have access to it anytime you need it.”
Council is also committed to supporting residents experiencing financial hardship. The recently updated Financial Hardship Policy includes options such as interest-free payment plans, deferrals, waivers of interest and debt collection fees, and support in connecting residents to relevant services.
“We are committed to providing our ratepayers with options when it comes to receiving and paying their rates,” Mr Lloyd added.
