SOUTH Morang took a big win to stay in reach of the double chance as they hosted Panton Hill at Mill Park Lakes Reserve.
The Lions were never headed at any point during the afternoon, kicking four goals to nil in the first term to lead by 26 points.
South Morang continued to expand the margin beyond any doubt, leading by 38 points at half time and 66 points at the final change, before adding five more goals in the last term to win 16.7 (103) to 1.1 (7).
Hailey Cordova was dominant, kicking four goals, while Chloe Thompson and Hayley Ball kicked three goals each.
Devony Hoare was in the thick of everything for the Lions, while Thompson, Cordova, Ball, Ella Pinney and Mikayla Bennett were named in the best alongside her.
In division three, Whittlesea moved up to third position after a dominant victory over Laurimar at Laurimar Reserve.
The Eagles took its time to eventually make things comfortable, but after leading by 24 points at the main break, and 36 at the final change, it added four goals to no score to eventually take a 9.12 (66) to 0.1 (1) victory.
Tahlia Brander kicked two goals in an even team performance for the Eagles, who were well-served by Harper McPherson-Goulding, Audrey Steinke, Leah O’Dell, Alexandra Baker-Murphy, Chloe Best and Simone Daniels.
Laurimar’s best players were Emma Taylor, Keira Widgery, Mikayla Wassell, Naomi Hocking, Stephanie Crook and Brianna Curran.
