Wallan Police Station is now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
While local police have always been available for patrols, crime prevention, and emergency response, the local station’s opening hours limited the public’s access to reception to a maximum of 16 hours per day.
In celebration of the station’s new 24-hour opening times, on November 30, an open day will be held in collaboration with emergency service organisations, including the CFA, Ambulance Victoria, and SES.
Mitchell Local Area Commander Anna Parkinson invited residents to visit the station to deepen their understanding and relationship with local emergency services.
“The local community will have the opportunity to visit the station and speak with Victoria Police specialist units and other emergency services,” she said.
“The event follows the … transition of Wallan Police Station’s reception to 24-hours, which officially [begun] on Sunday, November 3.”
