Kalkallo North Community Centre will be expecting another kindergarten room thanks to a partnership between the State Government and the Hume City Council.
The Building Blocks Partnership, which includes up to $7.45 million invested to support five new and expanded kindergarten projects, will create up to 280 new 3- and 4-year-old kindergarten places across the Hume.
The funding will increase capacity and modernise facilities, including Roxburgh Park’s Bluebird Way Child and Community Centre, Craigieburn’s Child and Family Centre, and Mickleham’s South Community Centre.
The Kalkallo North Community Centre is expected to be completed in 2025.
Member for Kalkallo Ros Spence said she was excited to see the development.
“I can’t wait to see families in our community benefit from this announcement, with hundreds of new 3- and 4-year-old kindergarten places across Melbourne’s outer north,” she said.
