Whittlesea once again showcased their dominance in the second half, securing their fifth consecutive victory this season. They emerged triumphant over Lower Plenty with an impressive 61-point margin.

Initially, the Bears displayed promise, enjoying a 20-point lead at the 10-minute mark of the second quarter. However, the Eagles elevated their game, embarking on a remarkable streak of 11 consecutive goals, ultimately netting 14 of the final 16 goals of the match.

Once again, Whittlesea captain Xavier Dimasi delivered an outstanding performance, earning his team’s top accolades for the fifth consecutive game. Dimasi’s leadership on the field proved pivotal in guiding the Eagles to ascendancy, complemented by the tireless efforts of Jaron Murphy, who excelled in both defensive duties and creating opportunities in the forward line.

Max Dyson also contributed significantly with four goals, standing out among five players who managed multiple majors.

Lower Plenty fought hard to match the Eagles’ pace in the final quarter, yet Whittlesea consistently outperformed them, notching an impressive 11 consecutive majors before the Bears broke the streak with a goal. Despite Lower Plenty’s efforts, the Eagles dominated, securing three of the last four goals to wrap up another stellar performance for the visitors.

The final siren saw the score 17.17 (119) to 8.10 (58) in favour of Whittlesea.

Despite a flawless 5-0 record, Whittlesea maintains the third position on the ladder, with unbeaten Diamond Creek and South Morang sitting above them.

Goals for Whittlesea came from Max Dyson 4, Jack Morely and Riley Powell 3 each, Clancy Bland and Matt Langford 2 each and Taidgh Bland, Christian Prestopino and Lucas Hobbs 1 each.

Best on ground were Xavier Dimasi, Max Dyson, Jaron Murphy, Khaled El-Leissy, Jack Morley and Lachlan Shinn-Mahony.

The Reserves scored similar success with the Eagles kicking 16, 21 (117) to Lower Plenty 4.7 (31).

Goal scorers were: Jack Taylor with 5, Billy Goodwin 3, Caleb Newport 2 and Jeremy Gorski, Jack Hayton, Kane Johnson, Lachlan Quine, Harry Beatie and Harry Bland with 1each.

Best for Whittlesea were Harrison Draper, Keidan Treacy, Jack Taylor, Brent Toll, Caleb Newport and Liam Tyrrell.
