GOTAFE’s newly redeveloped Seymour campus will be open to the public on Saturday, June 4 for a family fun day.
GOTAFE will host a range of family-friendly activities along with community information stalls, live music, food and coffee.
Visitors will be able to tour the new campus and view its state-of the-art nursing training rooms, a new early childhood education and care space and innovative equipment and technologies.
GOTAFE chief executive Travis Heeney said he was excited to invite the Seymour community for a morning of family fun at the new campus.
“GOTAFE is committed to vocational education in the Seymour region and improving our collaboration with the local community and industry,” he said.
“The Seymour campus has recently undergone a significant transformation, which will enable students to access modern, innovative spaces when studying and we’re excited for the wider community to see the improved facilities.”
The $5.9-billion modern training facility was officially opened in March by Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes.
The new Seymour campus provides students with fit-for-purpose teaching facilities to enhance education and training in priority study areas.
“These modern facilities will help train the next generation of students in vital health and community services and deliver job-ready graduates,” Mr Heeney said.
GOTAFE will offer Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability and Diploma of Nursing in addition to a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care from the new campus.
The courses are part of the State Government’s Free TAFE program, which aims to help to rebuild the Victorian workforce in priority industries.
The family fun day will be at GOTAFE’s Seymour Campus from 10am to 1pm on Saturday. More details can be found at www.gotafe.vic.edu.au.
