He also noted the importance of having sponsors for any tournament and acknowledged the tournament’s sponsors Wizz Coatings, Broadford Commercial Hotel and Jim’s Mowing and Garden Service Kilmore.

The members gave their time throughout the day but put in a special effort as the Gleeson family was present for the games.

The Broadford team comprising of Robert Chapman, skip, Laurie Barnes, third, Darryl Kelly, second, and Mark Carboon, lead, were the overall winners with a total score of 59 points.

The runners-up were the Ivanhoe Composite Team scoring 57 points.

The club invites new members to join – anyone interested in trying out the game of bowls can go along to barefoot bowls every Friday at 6pm. To register, call Dave Ellis on 0428 107 851 or email broadfordbc@gmail.com.
