Public pools open for summer

MACEDON Ranges Shire residents can grab their swimming gear and get ready for a visit to the pool, as Woodend and Lancefield outdoor pools have opened for the summer season.

The two outdoor pools will be open for the 2020-21 summer season until March 8, with revised operating protocols in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and State Government restrictions including social distancing, sanitising and maximum patron numbers.

The pools will open in accordance with the temperature-based guidelines which includes opening if the weather is 26 degrees or hotter Monday to Friday during term one of 2021 – opening hours will be from 3.30pm to 6pm.

During the remainder of December and school holidays, the same weather requirements apply, but opening hours are from 12pm until 6pm.

Opening hours are determined by the Bureau of Meteorology temperature forecasts for Kyneton which are checked the day prior.
Pools will be closed on Christmas Day and opened free of charge on Australia day if weather permits.
