Danaher Reserve also has new playground equipment and a new half-court basketball area following the removal of the older equipment.

“Our community now has more opportunities to get off the couch and get together in the great outdoors. And it’s just in time for everyone to register for the Premier’s Active April – 30 minutes of activity for 30 days,” Ms Green said.

The $270,000 project was delivered by Mitchell Shire Council in partnership with the State Government, with the project receiving a $175,000 contribution from the $250 million Growing Suburbs Fund.

Mitchell Shire Council contributed $95,000 towards the project.

“These parks are brilliant for creating social connections. That is one of the keys to a happy, healthy community and a huge benefit to being active,” Mayor David Lowe said.

“With more and more residents moving into our wonderful shire regularly, it is fantastic to be able to provide state of the art facilities.”

Since 2015, Mitchell Shire Council has received more than $19.1 million in funding to support 20 projects, with $4.8 million allocated for three key projects in the 2019-20 round of funding.
