A 16-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly stealing alcohol from a High Street store in Wallan on Saturday night.
At 6.25pm, a good samaritan chased down the boy with the stolen alcohol, before allegedly getting threatened at knifepoint.
The boy then fled on foot and was later arrested at a residence in the Mitchell Shire area.
The teenager was charged with three counts of theft, two counts of threat to inflict serious injury, assault police and five counts of committing an indictable offence while on bail.
He has been bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on June 19.
