SPORTING clubs across the region are invited to apply for grants which can help benefit their programs.

The Nationals Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, is encouraging all football and netball clubs across the region to speak with their local council to apply for the latest round of grants under the Country Football and Netball Program.

Ms Cleeland said applications can be made for grants of up to $250,000 to develop facilities which could include a variety of projects including new change rooms, upgrading lighting, improving water efficiency, and more.

Applications must be made by council, but an expression of interest form is available to assist clubs with sharing their proposal.

“Grassroots football and netball are the foundation of the sport and a major part of regional life,” Ms Cleeland said.

“Ensuring these clubs have quality facilities will help boost participation, bringing valuable social and health benefits to the wider community.”

Ms Cleeland said it was great to see local clubs looking for and applying to a variety of funding streams to help better sporting facilities right across our region.

“There are still a number of clubs across our towns that have been overlooked in recent State Budgets and are in desperate need of upgrades,” she said.

“Whether it be upgrading lighting for our sporting grounds, redeveloping ovals, or making much needed accessibility improvements – these grants have the opportunity to bring massive benefits to our local clubs.

“I hope to see all of the local councils in our region putting forward applications in the near future.”

Ms Cleeland said it was pleasing to see local clubs receive funding under the recently closed Sporting Club Grants Program too—including the Kilmore Swimming Club.

Applications for the current round of the Country Football and Netball program close on Monday, July 7.
