FOLLOWING the copper theft that left Lancefield Park powerless for more than four days, the committee of management has announced that the reserve’s security camera system has been upgraded.
The committee reported that additional cameras are now in place across key areas of the reserve, improving the monitoring capabilities within the park.
In addition, the copper wiring that was targeted in the devastating theft has now been replaced with aluminium cabling in an effort to deter criminals from any repeat action.
In a Facebook post, the Lancefield Park Committee of Management thanked all those involved for their ongoing support.
“Our volunteer committee continues to work hard behind the scenes to improve the safety, protection and long-term sustainability of Lancefield Park for all user groups and visitors,” it said.
