INLAND rail has reached an important part in the project to construct a new bridge in Wandong, as works will be undertaken to remove the existing traffic islands near the Broadford-Wandong Road bridge.
Asphalting on Rail Street and the Broadford-Wandong Road will also be carried out.
Next week, Rail Street will be closed at the intersection of Broadford-Wandong Road during night works, between 7pm to 5am, Tuesday, October 14 to Friday, October 17.
A detour via the Heathcote Junction level crossing works will be arranged.
Residential access will be maintained.
Rail Street will be open during the day and with temporary traffic controls in place.
Nearby residents may notice some noise and vibration, those impacted residents will be contacted directly.
Works can sometimes take longer than anticipated or be cancelled at short notice and rescheduled. Should this occur, impacted residents will be notified.
