ON the weekend the North Central Mother’s Network (NCMN) Baby and Parenting Expo drew many local families on a mission to improve the health and wellbeing of their babies to the JK Pavillion.
There was an emphasis on paediatric first aid and in between workshops, parents and carers met with a variety of services to support mothers including a pelvic floor physiotherapist, a birth and postnatal doula and a perinatal psychologist.
Across 35 stalls, participants were able to purchase sustainable nappies, maternity wear and baby clothing just to name a few.
Some of the community service organisations sharing information included The Australian Breastfeeding Association and Ambulance Victoria.
Family Care shared their Baby College program and its open to parents in their third trimester or with babies up to six months old. The program endeavours to help parents connect in a warm and welcoming environment where they can engage in meaningful discussions on prenatal and postnatal themes.
There are ongoing enrolments so parents can join anytime.
The program is being held at the Seymour Family and Children’s Centre at 29 Stewart Street in Seymour on Tuesdays at 11am.
