THE Kilmore Golf Club is extremely grateful to all those involved in the recent Fundraising Auction and would like to thank all local businesses, club members, and individuals who donated goods, services, and their time. Everyone in the community made a very positive contribution to the final dollars raised.
“The Kilmore Golf Course is an excellent quality course, run by volunteers only. The club keeps membership fees at affordable prices, just $600 per year for adults, and much lower for junior and weekday memberships. This fundraising auction was necessary to meet the extra cost caused by corella damage, and keep the course at a high standard,” spokesperson, Andrea Willis said.
The club had a wide range of items in the auction. Some local businesses provided vouchers for beauty, hair, or massage: Lancefield Day Spa, Briah Mae Hair and Body, Kilmore Wellness Centre, and Summah & Co. There were lots of meal vouchers to choose from: Mac’s Hotel. Trackside, Magpie & Stump Hotel, as well as a wine pack from De Bortoli and a voucher from Gray’s Meat. Of course, there was also golf equipment, a golf lesson from Jessica Boyce, and golf at Big Swing Drummond Golf.
There was a range of prices, from $30 to thousands of dollars. Items included Repco Bathurst Bookends, a Booteek Shoes voucher, a Kilmore Picture Framers voucher, a beautiful handmade quilt, Ford collectible surfboard, dog and cat food from Southside Stockfeeds, a farm truck, farm machinery, also horse riding lessons and training from Future Farms, and antique furniture.
It was the variety of items that helped with the success of the auction. There was something for everyone. The KGC Auction raised close to $13,000, and they still have some valuable items that were not sold, which will be sold on the Marketplace site.
These funds will make a great contribution to the refurbishment of the course, after corellas badly damaged the greens over the summer and autumn of 2025. The club will repair the damage by reconstructing some greens, replacing the drainage system, and reseeding the affected areas. The planned work has started and will continue over the next few months.
