THE 2025 Kilmore Art Expo will be held at the Memorial Hall in Kilmore from April 11 to 13.
This popular annual event, now in its 17th year, will display close to 340 artworks this year, all for sale. Doors will open at 6.30pm on Friday for the preview and award night, while over the weekend, exhibition hours will run from 10am–4pm on Saturday, and 10am–3pm on Sunday.
This year, the Kilmore Art Expo Raffle Prize is a painting by artist Ben Winspear. The work, Davey’s Beach Bay Mornington, is a striking seascape painting, valued at $1200.
Kilmore Art Society (KAS) President Jeannette Jain was thrilled to receive the donation from Winspear, with KAS Director Cheryl Eve acknowledging the artist’s impressive display of Australian landscape.
“The expo committee is extremely grateful to Ben for providing this beautiful painting for our show this year,” Ms Jain said.
“Ben paints a wide range of subject matter, but his love for the Australian landscape is something that stands out,” Ms Eve said.
Winspear is a Melbourne-based artist who works in both oil and watercolour. He has been working as an artist for over 20 years, and has held several successful solo exhibitions, and boasts accolades such as the Victorian Artist Society’s Artist of the Year award.
Winspear facilitates major art projects in conjunction with schools, government departments, community groups, and private businesses, and teaches privately from his studio. For more information, visit www.benwinspearart.com.
Tickets for the art raffle are available to purchase at several markets, newsagents, Kilmore Racing Club, and, of course, will be on sale during the expo itself. The raffle will be drawn on Sunday, April 13 at 2.30pm, and the winner notified by phone.
Expert judges will assess all works on display, with winning artists awarded cash and gifts from a total prize pool of almost $9000. Awards and prizes will be presented to winners during the preview night, with the presentation of the awards to begin at 7.30pm.
Live music, wonderful food, drinks, and great company are sure to make the preview night on Friday, April 11, an enjoyable experience for all attendees. To purchase tickets for this event, visit https://kilmoreartexpo.com.au/event/58176/art-expo-preview-evening-2025.
