MITCHELL Community Energy (MCE) and Mitchell Shire Council (MSC) are launching two exciting initiatives designed to help local residents save money on their energy bills while making the transition to renewable energy solutions easier and more affordable.
Officially introduced last Friday, the new MCE Energy Hub and the Goulburn Murray Solar Savers program is a free resource centre located within the Seymour Library, where residents can get expert advice on reducing their electricity costs.
Community members will learn practical ways to cut power bills, access information on energy-efficient appliances, and explore cost-effective solar options.
The hub will also offer guidance on government rebates and incentives that can make switching to renewable energy more affordable than ever.
In addition to the Energy Hub, the Goulburn Murray Solar Savers program—an initiative led by councils in North Eastern Victoria including MSC—will aid residents looking to invest in cost-saving solar systems and energy-efficient home upgrades.
Through Solar Savers, residents can access vetted suppliers and take advantage of financial support, including rebates and low-interest loans, to make solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, and energy-efficient air conditioning more accessible and budget-friendly.
With rising energy costs, these initiatives offer practical solutions that can lead to significant long-term savings for households while contributing to a better environment.
