The Seymour Racing Club hosted the United Insurance Group Day last Friday in Seymour and punters came from near and far to try their luck at the spring event.
4YO chestnut gelding the Kilmorian prepared to run in race four after strapper Ash Thompson warmed him up in the mounting yard. Punters said the number four track was excellent and with nil wind and sunshine, it was all up to the horses and their jockeys to make the most of the day.
The Kilmorian is trained by Kilmore based trainer Jody Thompson and owned by a syndicate of six. He raced last Friday in the 1600m Insure my fleet Maiden Plate at The Seymour Racing Club’s United Insurance Group Day, and although he made it into third place with 500m to go, he finished seventh. The stewards reported that the Kilmorian was hampered on jumping when tightened for room between Vidocq and Florence Island (NZ) which shifted in. Mr Bowditch spoke with Mr Thompson after the race and said he did well, but that it was a little bit quick for him today.
