The Lakes South Morang College is set to gain an accompanying kindergarten, saving parents the time and trouble of the dreaded ‘double drop off’.

One of eight new kindergartens to be built on established school sites, South Morang’s new kindergarten is set to open for Term 1, 2026.

Other locations include Ballarto Road Primary School, Casey Central Primary School (interim name), Warralily Park Primary School (interim name), Reservoir Views Primary School, Kennington Primary School, Lysterfield Primary School, and Gordon Primary School.

The creation of these additional eight kindergartens will mean a total of 21 kindergartens will open in 2026, while 20 are set to open next year.

Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn praised the announcement, stating the new kindergartens would help meet local demand.

“We’re building hundreds of kinders at schools across the state, helping to meet local demand and ensuring every young Victorian can get the best start in life,” she said.
