The Mitchell Rangers Soccer Club (MRSC) played a friendly match at home on Sunday between the Men’s and the Women’s.

Women’s Coach Cam Leffley said it was a fantastic opportunity for the women to implement new tactics in a friendly competition against the Men’s Thirds. With some new players getting their first run out and some players trying new positions, it was far from usual for the Women’s side. With new addition Yasmine having a strong game at fullback, a firm penalty scored from a confident Olivia, and some fantastic dribbling through midfield from young Gracie, the Women’s side created plenty of opportunities.

Third’s Coach Kane De Battista had the same idea, playing plenty of players out of their usual position as well as calling up some talented young players who got their first taste of senior football. With young Sasha scoring some great goals, a hungry Connor held the line defensively and a fierce Nulan worked hard up and down the pitch, while a creative and youthful Hunter created plenty of opportunities and centre back Noah led the team from the back line. De Battista was very excited by the talent he witnessed on the day from both sides.
